Strengthening Health Rights: A Collaborative Workshop for Trafficking Survivors' Well-Being
The province-level workshop titled "Our Roles in Ensuring the Health Rights of Trafficking Survivors" was successfully held in Makhwanpur District on January 27, 2025. The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Social Development Bagmati Province, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan Municipality, OCMC, Hetauda Hospital, the Women’s Cell of the District Police Office, the Legal Bar Association, NGOs, journalists, and trafficking survivors.
The workshop focused on addressing health-related challenges faced by trafficking survivors, discussing obstacles, and identifying actionable solutions. Participants highlighted the urgent need to strengthen coordination among various sectors to ensure survivors' access to health services. A key conclusion from the workshop was a collective agreement to enhance collaborative efforts, with each sector committing to take proactive steps toward securing health rights for trafficking survivors. The importance of health as a fundamental pillar in the recovery and reintegration of survivors was strongly emphasized, setting a better path for future planning and action.
